Andrea Bocelli Cambridge Concert reviews
Andrea Bocelli was phenomenal!!!
The concert was wonderful; however, the parking and traffic were a nightmare. The Smoothie King Center should not be used as a venue during the last two weeks of Mardi Gras. The parades cause closures of multiple streets and getting around New Orleans is almost impossible. It took us over an hour to get from Canal Street to the Smoothie King Center and once we got to the Center, it took another 30 minutes to get to the entry doors. Fortunately, the concert didn't start on time, so we were not late, but we were definitely stressed.
NEVER GOING TO FL LIVE ARENA AGAIN!
The parking situation was HORRENDOUS! Only 1 gate open to enter, and only 2 credit card takers for a 45,000 person show; REALLY! The people behind us waited 1 hour to go 3 blocks. We gave up and parked in the mall parking lot, and then had to walk 45 minutes. We and hundreds of others missed the first 30 minutes of the show. And then over the next hour, late people were still arriving as the show was going on, and we all had to get up/down to let them in. Some people were still arriving when he call his intermission.
YOUR PARKING SITUATION NEEDS TO GET FIXED AND I WILL NOT GO TO THAT THEATER AGAIN REGARDLESS OF WHO THE PERFORMER IS.
Obstructed seats
I had 2 seats in section 129, just off the corner of the stage. I’ve sat here before, and the proximity to the singer was fabulous. For this concert, however, the singers were in the center of the stage, and about 6 feet back from the front. The conductor was in my direct line of sight, blocking all the soloists. There was a black curtain blocking the backstage area, but it was so high that it also blocked the bottom half of the video screens. All of the dances except one were performed on the far side of the stage, which I could barely see. The video screens only showed their heads. I was so disappointed to have seats with obstructions, especially since I paid $450 each for them.
